Realme X7 Max 5G was launched by the company some time back in India. This smartphone has been launched with specifications like 120Hz AMOLED display and MediaTek Dimensity 1200. We have used it for some time and now we are going to bring its review to you. The price of Realme X7 Max 5G in India has been kept at Rs 26,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variants and Rs 29,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variants. This phone has been introduced in Asteroid Black, Mercury Silver and Milky Weaker options. We have reviewed its 12GB and Black variants.

Design, Build Quality and Display :

The dual-tone panel has been given in the rear panel of this phone. There is a matte finish here on the right side and a glossy strip on the left. The camera module and Realme branding are present in this strip. I think the people of Realme could have been placed in a more sober way. However, its design is quite good and its body is plastic. There are no rough edges anywhere in the phone and the grip is good in it. In this, volume rockers and SIM tray have been given in the left side. At the same time, the power button is given in the right. Both the placements are correct. Here the slot for additional memory card will not be available to the users. Similarly, the speaker grille, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack have been given in the bottom.

This smartphone is very lightweight, slick and compact. In such a situation, there is no problem in using it with a single hand. Talking about the display, a 6.43-inch full-HD + (1,080x2,400 pixels) Super AMOLED display with 1,000 nits peak brightness, 360Hz touch sampling rate and 120Hz refresh rate has been given. The colors and brightness are very good. You will not have any complaint regarding this. Also, the phone feels smooth due to good vibration response and high refresh rate. The punch hole cutout for the selfie camera is given in the top left of the display. The fingerprint sensor is in the display itself and it is also quite fast. Talking about the overall way, this phone is good in terms of look, design and carrying. However, the built-quality could have been premiumized slightly for the price.

Performance :

This phone has 6nm processor based octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor with up to 12GB of RAM, Arm Mali-G77 MC9 GPU and speed up to 3.0GHz. It is more power efficient than Snapdragon 870/865. Its GPU supports display up to 168Hz refresh rate. Talking about its performance, you will not get any complaint in daily day usage. Whether you are browsing, watching videos, running multiple apps at the same time or switching apps, you will never feel any lag. Due to the high refresh rate in the display, the phone feels smoother.

Talking about gaming, we played many games like Call of Duty and Asphalt 9 in it. We did not find any frame drop or lag here. The game play is smoother due to the 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling on the panel. However, high refresh rate support is not available in all games. Overall gaming performance is also very good. This phone does not get too hot after playing the game for a long time. The company has given stainless steel vapor cooling system in it.

Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support have been provided in Realme X7 Max 5G. The performance of these speakers is very good. In addition, it also supports 7 to 5G bands, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS / A-GPS and NFC. Talking about the battery, the company has given 4,500mAh battery in it. In normal usage, you will comfortably run it for 1 day. However, in very heavy use, the battery can run out soon. The processor and many software settings present in it help in saving battery.

Along with this, the company has also given support for 50W fast charging. The company claims to charge the phone 50 percent in 16 minutes. However, we got only 30 percent battery charge in this time. It takes around 50-55 minutes to fully charge the phone. It does get a little hot while charging.

Software :

Android 11 based Realme UI 2.0 has been given in this smartphone. In this OS you will get to see some pre-loaded apps. Which sends unnecessary notifications. However, you can delete most of these apps and turn off notifications. Also, this UI is still better than the custom UI of some other companies. You can call it Near Stock Android. The special thing is that in this new UI, users will get many options for personalization including security, privacy and edge lighting. Also for battery optimization.

Camera :

64MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide angle camera and 2MP macro camera have been given in the rear of Realme X7 Max. At the same time, there is a 16MP camera in its front for selfie. Users can use 64MP camera mode only when higher resolution images are required. Photos clicked during the day with the rest of the primary camera, ultra-wide angle camera and macro camera are good. Photos clicked with the primary camera up to 3x zoom in a day are good. However, there is definitely a problem with the focus lock. Macro camera will not work for you at night or in low-light. Talking about Super Night Mode, here you also get support for ultra-wide angle lens. However, you may not like the night results with this lens.

The low-light result of the primary camera is good by the way. But, there is a lack of tripod mode here. Which is found in many phones of Reality. Also, many times you will get to see more noise in the pictures of Night Mode. Whereas, this much was not seen even during the review of Realme 8 Pro. The good thing is that users will get to see some cool filters of night-mode here. However, some of the new camera modes of Real like Stary Mode and Tilt Shift will not be available. In portrait mode, you will get to see very good blur and edge detection.

Talking about video, users will get support for 4K, ultra-wide angle lens, ultra steady mode and super night mode here. Similarly, the response of the selfie camera is good in daylight. Also, it clicks good photos in portrait mode as well. The support of Night Mode and Ultra Steady Video Mode is also given here in Selfie. Talking about the overall way, the camera performs well. Only low-light performance could have been improved. Most of the better results users use AI mode.

Conclusion :

The Realme X7 Max 5G is a great phone that comes with a 120Hz AMOLED display, good battery life and a fast processor at a starting price of Rs 26,999. Also, the latest Android OS is also available here. Only its build quality and low-light performance of the camera can leave you a little disappointed. Overall, we can call it a value-for-money phone in the range of 25 to 30 thousand rupees.
