Cash-out is over! PM Modi launched digital payment E-Rupi, now transaction of money without contact

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched e-rupi, a digital payment service for cashless and contactless payments. E-Rupee works as an e-voucher based on QR code and SMS which will be received by the beneficiaries through mobile. PM unveiled the electronic voucher digital payment solution through video conferencing. Through this digital payment, a resident of Mumbai first paid at a vaccination center for Covid-19. This payment is done easily and in a few seconds through ERupee.

While launching the e-Rupee, the PM said that digital transactions and DBT will help grow in the country with e-rupee vouchers. With this, everyone in the country will be able to take help in targeted, transparent and leakage free delivery. The PM said that if any general organization or organization wants to help someone in treatment, studies or for other work, then it will be able to give e-RUPI instead of cash. This will ensure that the money given by him is used for the same work for which that amount has been given.

The PM further said that e-Rupi is an example of how India is moving ahead in the 21st century with the help of advanced technology and people are connecting with each other through technology. I am glad that e-Rupee has been launched this year as the country celebrates 75th anniversary of independence. He further said that in the initial phase, this scheme is being implemented on the benefits related to the health sector of the country. With time, more things will be added to it.

The e-Rupi platform has been developed jointly by National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Health and Welfare and National Health Authority.
